Against the background of rapid development in smart city construction, urban lighting has been upgraded from the traditional function of illumination to an intelligent, energy-saving and refined management system. Supported by the Internet of Things, big data and cloud computing, the Intelligent Street Lamp Centralized Control Platform breaks through the pain points of traditional street lamp management, such as decentralized control, manual inspection and high energy consumption. It realizes remote monitoring, unified scheduling and intelligent operation and maintenance of street lamps across the city, providing a solid guarantee for urban night safety, low-carbon development and efficient governance.

Traditional street lamp management relies heavily on manual patrol, resulting in delayed fault detection, single adjustment mode and high operation and maintenance costs, which can hardly meet the needs of modern urban development. Equipped with intelligent terminals and communication modules, the intelligent platform realizes core functions including single-lamp control, loop control, remote dimming, timed switching and automatic fault alarm. Managers can monitor the running status, voltage, current and energy consumption data of each street lamp in real time through the management dashboard or mobile terminal. Once lamp damage, line abnormality or power failure occurs, the system will immediately locate the fault and send an alarm, greatly shortening the response time and reducing labor and material costs.

Energy saving and consumption reduction are the core values of intelligent street lamp control. The platform supports intelligent brightness adjustment according to seasons, weather, time periods and traffic flow. It can automatically reduce power at late night to avoid energy waste caused by full-load lighting all night. Compared with the traditional lighting mode, the comprehensive power saving rate can reach more than 30%, which not only relieves the power grid burden but also helps cities achieve the “dual carbon” goals. Meanwhile, the system can automatically generate energy consumption statistics, operation and maintenance reports and fault analysis reports, providing data support for urban lighting planning, budget formulation and equipment upgrading, and driving urban management from “experience-driven” to “data-driven”.

In terms of function expansion, the intelligent street lamp control platform can be seamlessly connected with the urban comprehensive governance system and be compatible with environmental monitoring, video surveillance, emergency call, information release and other equipment, so as to realize “multi-function integration in one pole, unified management via one network”. A street lamp is not only a lighting terminal, but also a urban sensing node, providing real-time data for traffic guidance, public security, environmental monitoring and emergency command, and building a safer, more convenient and livable urban public service system.

From municipal roads, parks and scenic spots to university campuses and new industrial towns, intelligent centralized control of street lamps has become a standard configuration of new smart cities. It not only improves the urban image and night quality, but also optimizes the governance mode, saves public resources and ensures people’s livelihood with technological power. In the future, with the continuous iteration of intelligent technologies, the Intelligent Street Lamp Centralized Control Platform will continue to upgrade and illuminate the road of urban development in a more efficient, flexible and intelligent way, injecting lasting impetus into the construction of smart cities.

In the past, the streetlights we encountered on city streets followed a simple rule: they turned on at a set time and off at daybreak, shining at the same brightness regardless of whether pedestrians or vehicles were around.
